I have laid before the Lords Cormissioners of His Hajesty's Treasury Mr. Grindle's letter of the 31st ultimo (72913/1919) enclosing copy of a letter from the Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank asking if Straits Settlements Government Bonds can be accepted as security against their excess note issue.

In reply, My Lords direct me to state that They concur in the proposed reply to the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation.
